The innovation in display technology continues at a rapid speed. We just need to look at the TV set and see how far we have come so quickly and we are on the verge of roll up film OLED technology for you how TV set. Large format billboard type display technology has seen LED to be the pre-eminent screen technology for stadiums, building screens and all daylight displays. The technology is now being widely used in corporate foyers, AV events, shop windows, concerts and the like. Most of these have been based on using panel and cabinet type models. Now with ICE LEDFlex we bring a unique and innovative solution that opens up increasing numbers of display opportunities.

In a new exciting development ICE AV introduces transparent adhesive LEDFlex film panels that combines the aspect of flexible film similar in concept to OLED and the capabilities of traditional LED displays. In essence think of it as Glass LED, LED Film or window screen technology.

The LEDFlex Window glass led tiles are available in a few different finishes:
Opaque – where the circuitry is bonded between two encapsulation films and is the most flexible. Here the see thru effect is translucent rather than transparent.
Sandwiched – here the tiles are mounted between two micro thin clear acrylic sheets and provide maximum transparent see through in both directions.
Black Backing – here the tile has a solid black lamination and zero transparency
Framed – here the tiles are mounted into aluminum frame.

For the first 3 installation can be installed against a window by adhesive tape.

The tiles have the option of three optical clarity conditions: Opaque, Transparent, Blocked. In addition the led tiles can be built into a frame that bolts together.

One of the unique characteristics is that the tiles can be laminated onto windows and building glass facades. It is not designed to be mounted on the external outdoor surface.

New Babylon Commercial Centre in the Hague uses the amazing transparent Glass LED Screen

The “New Babylon” office, conference, hotel and retail destination complex is showing the way in the latest trend in LED Digital Billboards thanks to transparent Glass LED panel tiles. New Babylon is located in the city centre of The Hague, next to The Hague Central Train Station.

The building is 44 floors and almost 150m high. But it is at ground level that the digital screen magic is happening. The front pedestrian atrium entrance is a recessed glass façade that above the door way is a large can not be missed transparent LED screen. Once the fantasy of Hollywood movies, this just finished 16mm Pitch Glass LED installation shows fiction is now fact.

The installation in this state of the art building complex has been under construction for a number of years and its completion with the finished install of the Glass LED screen last month, clearly shows how LED screens can be a feature as non obtrusive digital magic within the building skin thanks to the reality of the Transparent LED Glass Panels.

By using the actual building surface as the LED screen and to that point the glass window or façade, eliminates the traditional standalone column mounted screen having to be placed out and away from the building.

Glass LED tiles are a recent development that allows new ways of creating attention and applying digital content onto building façade, multi level building windows, store and office windows. The Digital LED Glass Panels allow the actual building window to become a digital surface and screen capable of displaying video, animation, social media, photos, creative animations and video. Previously to achieve this projectors had to be used with only limited success during daytime. Today with the Glass LED titles all the limitations are removed and can be easily fitted to existing buildings or new planned construction.

With the Glass LED panels it is now possible to attach LED panels directly to the glass by way of the innovative mounting technique. The options of gluing, hanging, mounting all help to overcome a variety of location issues particular to each project. In addition is can be designed to install onto the vertical window frame.

The panels can butt up edge to edge and thereby creating large seamless edge screens as seen in this video. In the New Babylon project the controllers are aligned with the window glass frame. A certain amount of customisation is possible, for example panel size can be adapted for particular installations, as was the case in the New Babylon at “The Haque”. Control can be via Asynchronous or Synchronous, direct wired, or over wireless or G3 network. As can be seen in this project the Glass LED hardware is virtually invisible but the effect is dramatic. The panels are ideal for attaching to the inside of entire office floor windows, retail shop windows or office partition walls.

The Digital Glass Panels have daytime and night time ability, are applied to any window big or small. They can be easily retro fitted to existing glass façades, windows and internal partitions.

Digital LED Glass is ideal as message screen, effects, billboard, and at the same time not detract the external appearance of glass and yet still display daytime brightness when playing video, graphics, animations and photos. With the correct integration of associated technology it is possible to make the screens interactive, integrated with social media content.

The ICE Glass LED Technology can revolutionise any glass window or indoor partition wall.

The Glass LED panels opens up large opportunities to create digital signs in shop front windows, or within the store they can help keep spaces open even on large video walls like in this Nine West fashion store in Hong Kong.

In this recent installation the Glass LED screen does not crowd or dominant the retail store.

A significant advantage is the LED Glass allows transparency thru the screen and image. If installed on shop windows then the inner store area is still easily viewed and if installed within the retail store the screen does not block the viewers perception.

We have both daytime and indoor brightness options and this allows us to specify the correct panels for any installation application. The ICE LED Glass panels can be installed to any size desired according to the window, wall or building size. Panels can be customised in size to meet inner window frame dimensions.

The Nine West installation features a P10mm Pitch resolution. Brightness is 3,000 NITS and measures 1920 mm(W) x 2240 mm(H). The resolution pitch ranges from 5mm – 31mm. The finer the pitch resolution, the better the viewed picture quality. The actual overall screen size is determined by available displays space and your budget. The precise screen size will be determined by the actual individual Glass LED tile measurements.

Glass LED Panels can be fitted to existing windows

Glass plays a significant role in the construction and here the ICE Glass LED Panels can turn exiting glass walls, interiors and windows into elegant digital surfaces. By allowing visual transparency, light egress through the screen the screens and along with high resolution digital display capability, the effect meets many requirement for the architect, advertiser and lighting effects director without blocking the exterior view by staff within the building.

For long distance viewing we offer a number of solutions and so the LED screen choice will be influenced by a number of factors. First will it be indoor or out door viewing, installation position, solid wall or transparency, viewing distances, placement and size.

ICE LVSS LED Facade Screen

An ideal solution for long distance viewing is the ICE LVSS model and allows remarkable diversity in installation techniques. Pitch ranges from 25mm up to 50mm and can be installed in either Strip or Integrated configurations. Brightness caters for full daylight conditions and IP68 for outdoors however it is equally suited for indoors. The strip mesh effect is ideal for reduced wind loading
due to the inter strip space. The LVSS solution can be installed indoors or outdoors. Pictured left it has been installed behind the glass walled atrium allowing sunlight to pass through the screen.

Many screens can be installed in a hanging configuration and will be influenced by weight considerations, permanent or temporary, general appearance and brightness requirements. One type is the ICE Mesh Curtain Panels and typically consist of 1000 mm x 500 mm panels that are bolted together to the size required. They have an open rear area and normally the electronics is contained within a central cabinet cavity column. They can be either in an open transparent strip mesh or solid LED panels.

The Sphereonic Globe LED screen is a innovative an unique application of LEDs. Instead of being flat or curved the screen is an actual 360 degree sphere with the digital display area covering the entire area. These come into categories Dynamic and Static. The Dynamic model combines robotics with digital display and moves in accordance to programmed sequence where each LED panel segment extends and contracts in pattern required. The Static is a lower cost version where it is best thought of as a large LED ball with wrap around display area.

Building Your Massive LED Screen Strip by Strip

ICELVSS Large Structure LED Strips and Panels

Large format building and wall screens are an increasing trend world wide to create mesmerising light installations, digital displays and bill boards. Increasingly the requirement for solutions that can be integrated into existing sites becomes crucial to add that digital element.

To enhance the quality of the installation all cables are housed inside the frame.

The single strip version allows unique installation onto surfaces that may be curved or irregular and allows creeping angle installation. The advantage for installations where people maybe behind the screen is the 50% transparency nature  making it ideal when light must still pass from outdoors into the interior environment. When installed behind a glass facade the building is able to retain the smooth shiny glass look, however when the screen is switched on, it is as if though the glass itself comes alive.
