Small Screen for the Big City: ICE announces the ICE Rear Window LED vehicle screen.

Designed as a transparent in-vehicle mobile advertising LED screen. The transparent ICE LED Vehicle screen allows the rear window of a vehicle to be used as an advertising screen without blocking the view out the window.

From the driver’s interior position the transparency looking thru the screen is 50%. This is achieved by the vertical LED spacing which is 5.2mm and also the brightness is only seen from the exterior. This allows the driver to still see traffic behind their vehicle through the window. Also note on the average taxi or other vehicle the screen will not cover the entire rear window.

The screen is easily installed from the inside of the vehicle’s rear window using 3M industrial grade dual side adhesive tape. The DC>DC power unit should be installed close by. Power is drawn from the 12v cigarette socket output. When the vehicle is switched off the screen would cease to operate.

Controlling the screen is from the Novastar Asynchronous Controller that utilizes the Smart Phone software for both Android and iOS preferences.

Operating and Setup
This requires the Smart phone device to have the software installed. A comprehensive 22 page Novastar manual is available for the software. As this is a LED screen specific software, it is expected users will familiarize themselves with its operation.  Please note if required, the Controller can be controlled from a Windows PC

Installation:
Attach flexible transparent screen to inside of window using 3M double side tape.
Power supply source plugs into cigarette dashboard socket.
Transparency is 50% and exterior is view-able through the screen.
The power supply(12VDC to 5VDC) & controller is placed near the panel.
If after some time you wish to install into a different vehicle then it is possible.

The screen could be used in other window scenario’s if needed, however in this specific case we have targeted it to in-vehicle display.

New Babylon Commercial Centre in the Hague uses the amazing transparent Glass LED Screen

The “New Babylon” office, conference, hotel and retail destination complex is showing the way in the latest trend in LED Digital Billboards thanks to transparent Glass LED panel tiles. New Babylon is located in the city centre of The Hague, next to The Hague Central Train Station.

The building is 44 floors and almost 150m high. But it is at ground level that the digital screen magic is happening. The front pedestrian atrium entrance is a recessed glass façade that above the door way is a large can not be missed transparent LED screen. Once the fantasy of Hollywood movies, this just finished 16mm Pitch Glass LED installation shows fiction is now fact.

The installation in this state of the art building complex has been under construction for a number of years and its completion with the finished install of the Glass LED screen last month, clearly shows how LED screens can be a feature as non obtrusive digital magic within the building skin thanks to the reality of the Transparent LED Glass Panels.

By using the actual building surface as the LED screen and to that point the glass window or façade, eliminates the traditional standalone column mounted screen having to be placed out and away from the building.

Glass LED tiles are a recent development that allows new ways of creating attention and applying digital content onto building façade, multi level building windows, store and office windows. The Digital LED Glass Panels allow the actual building window to become a digital surface and screen capable of displaying video, animation, social media, photos, creative animations and video. Previously to achieve this projectors had to be used with only limited success during daytime. Today with the Glass LED titles all the limitations are removed and can be easily fitted to existing buildings or new planned construction.

With the Glass LED panels it is now possible to attach LED panels directly to the glass by way of the innovative mounting technique. The options of gluing, hanging, mounting all help to overcome a variety of location issues particular to each project. In addition is can be designed to install onto the vertical window frame.

The panels can butt up edge to edge and thereby creating large seamless edge screens as seen in this video. In the New Babylon project the controllers are aligned with the window glass frame. A certain amount of customisation is possible, for example panel size can be adapted for particular installations, as was the case in the New Babylon at “The Haque”. Control can be via Asynchronous or Synchronous, direct wired, or over wireless or G3 network. As can be seen in this project the Glass LED hardware is virtually invisible but the effect is dramatic. The panels are ideal for attaching to the inside of entire office floor windows, retail shop windows or office partition walls.

The Digital Glass Panels have daytime and night time ability, are applied to any window big or small. They can be easily retro fitted to existing glass façades, windows and internal partitions.

Digital LED Glass is ideal as message screen, effects, billboard, and at the same time not detract the external appearance of glass and yet still display daytime brightness when playing video, graphics, animations and photos. With the correct integration of associated technology it is possible to make the screens interactive, integrated with social media content.

The ICE Glass LED Technology can revolutionise any glass window or indoor partition wall.

The Glass LED panels opens up large opportunities to create digital signs in shop front windows, or within the store they can help keep spaces open even on large video walls like in this Nine West fashion store in Hong Kong.

In this recent installation the Glass LED screen does not crowd or dominant the retail store.

A significant advantage is the LED Glass allows transparency thru the screen and image. If installed on shop windows then the inner store area is still easily viewed and if installed within the retail store the screen does not block the viewers perception.

We have both daytime and indoor brightness options and this allows us to specify the correct panels for any installation application. The ICE LED Glass panels can be installed to any size desired according to the window, wall or building size. Panels can be customised in size to meet inner window frame dimensions.

The Nine West installation features a P10mm Pitch resolution. Brightness is 3,000 NITS and measures 1920 mm(W) x 2240 mm(H). The resolution pitch ranges from 5mm – 31mm. The finer the pitch resolution, the better the viewed picture quality. The actual overall screen size is determined by available displays space and your budget. An ICE LED Screen ventures into the remote Turkish Cappadocia in 8 hours time with the Anatolia Raid

An ICE Flexible Hang Roll Fold LED screen was selected as the ideal solution for the TransAnatolia Raid rally starting in 8 hours time from Antalya, Turkey

ICE LED’s partner ipiTek in Istanbul, is managing the rally IT requirements of the event and responsible during the event for the the LED screen requirements. The screen measures 5.256m*2.628m total and weighs 170 kg consisting of three sections. This allows the screen to be easily transported and assembled in the remote Cappadocia region of Turkey. The screen can be promptly erected at the end of each stage prior to the drivers arriving at the end the arduous rally stages.

Cappadocia is a high plateau in Central Turkey at an altitude of 3270 ft / 1000 m. It lies in a triangle formed by the three main towns of Kayseri, Nevsehir and Nigde.

The history of Cappadocia begins 60 million years ago with the eruption of 2 volcanos, covering the area with lava and tufa. In later periods rain and wind eroded the land and created unusual valleys, canyons and cones.

For many centuries Hittites, Assyrian Colonies, Greeks and Romans lived in the region. Cappadocia is also a very important region in early Christian History.

There are over 600 hundred rock-cut churches built by monks and hermits between the 4th and 11th centuries. In some of these, church walls have been decorated with wonderful frescoes depicting scenes from the Bible.

ICE LED STS Timer screens will help 900 of the dirtiest and mud covered racers time themselves.

ICE LED is supporting a local Auckland fun race event in support of raising funds for prostrate cancer. We are supplying a STS LED screen that will display three clocks at a time with multiple clocks running for the many heats.

The Mud Race Rush 2.5km obstacle course has a number of messy surprises where racers have to crawl, slide and make their way over tyres, walls and foam. along the way. Crawling in mud pits, slipping and sliding down foamy water slides, climbing over walls and tyre mountains, splashing through a murky creek and of course getting covered in lots and lots of mud is the challenge as you head for the finish line.

Though the event is to raise funds for prostrate cancer research, it will allow over 900 children to challenge themselves, possibly move them out of their comfort zone and discover the real world away from computers and gaming consoles, as they get filthy and dirty this weekend at Long Bay Primary School on Sunday.

Post Mud Rush Race Update.
Weather worked out fine, with a good down pour of rain overnight to keep the mud soft!

Here is a post event video report of the Mud Rush event where 1,000 children were completely covered in mud in the cross country event. We had an ICE STS Sports Timer screen at the finish line. I have never seen so many children covered in mud and with smiling parents!
