Amazing award winning bicycle powered interactive light installation engages between cyclists and for viewers.

The ICE Interactive Cycling Entertainment installation is an award winning public lighting installation, that can bring public areas alive due to an excellent degree of integration. The towering 42m high ring sculpture features twelve inner grooves around the inner surface of the sculpture. Twelve light strips consisting of a custom-made double protection of 70 linear lights are installed and have built-in interactive control system, which is connected with the 12 stationery bicycle.

The interactive control system can change the rate of pedaling into a control signal through the sensor to change the light embedded in the sculpture. The lighting effect changes with the speed of the rider.

The colorful interactive lighting method creates a dynamic lighting experience that converges the interaction between people and lighting. Users can interact with the sculpture by riding the 12 bicycles that control the lighting pattern.
This is achieved through an interactive control system connected to the bicycles. The system responds to the sensors via control signal rate, and hence the lights change with variation in the speeds of the bicycle riders.

With 12 lighting rings, and 12 bicycles connected to interactive control system, the sculpture lighting becomes a stunning object during the evening. The bicycles can be used in three different modes that allow different interaction modes with the light sculpture.

• Co-operative Mode
12 bicycles control the overall animation of the lights which dependents on the overall speed of the bikes. The faster the people ride the bicycles, the quicker the lighting circles move. At the highest speed, the lighting is in full colors which lasts for 10 seconds then returns to its starting state.

• Single Competitive Mode
Each bike controls one light band with a specific color. The faster the speed of the rider, the quicker its light band moves in circles. The first one to reach highest speed becomes the winner, and the lights of all the other bike change to the color of the winner’s bike.

• Group Competitive Mode
Similar to a tug-of-war, this mode provides for an interactive way for participants to compete in groups. The 12 bikes are divided into groups of two, consisting of 6 people each. Starting from the bottom, one group’s light moves clockwise while the others move counterclockwise. The first group controls the lights in clockwise direction and the second group controls the lights in counterclockwise direction. The faster the speed changes, the faster the light changes. When the two sets of lights meet, the direction of the light flow is determined according to the speed of both sides, and when the winner reaches the end, the color of the winner group will take over the whole image.

Bringing together stationery cycling, interactive power controller, competitive human behavior, in a public area and packaged into any number of structure designs, now allows a new type on experiential lighting.

The quantity of bicycles is completely variable though we would recommend at least two as this will enable a competitive strategy. The lighting elements can be as picture in a circular structure, or lines set in the ground, ribbon structure, tower, around the edges of a building. In addition to be strip lights, we can also apply the cycling experience onto our LED soft net mesh and when no cyclists are pedaling the screen led mesh resorts automatically to displaying animation, photos, video content for visual effects or advertising.

High definition expansive LED screen design to make an impressive visual statement.

ICE AV has been invited to propose a solution that incorporates the ability for venue visitors to walk thru the screen to access the elevators for a prestigious nationally significant company at their international company headquarters.

The requirement calls for a high definition, expansive viewing screen that is designed to overwhelm viewers and to provide an immersive high definition display experience.

The screen design is 22m wide and 4.4m high (Area 74 sqm) with three walk through sections and in 3.9 and 1.8mm Pitch options.

The LED screen follows similar projects that have gained wide exposure. Salesforce in their flag ship San Francisco Headquarter implemented a 32.6m wide x 4m (8112 x 960 pixels) foyer wall LED canvas that displays stunning high definition images incorporating creative realistic computer rendered video and content.

Alibaba as part of the 11th G20 Summit held September 2016 in Hangzhou also implemented an impressive screen to reinforce their remarkable international success.

The high definition screen consisted of 8448 x 1728 pixels screen and the installation had the additional challenge of being slightly curved with two doors within the screen that leads to the show room hall Hall 9.

Zara Fashion Brand launches flagship store with massive transparent GlassLED Screen in the front windows.

When your competitors are every high end brand or low cost commodity store vying for the dollars walking past your store, you really need to know yourself and your unique proposition and that is even before customers step in through the front doors!

The ICE GlassLED window screen tiles allows retailers to create clarity, sparkling clean lines, transparency and light. The interior of the Zara store can be seen through the screen depending on the content being displayed. Zara knew they had to make a fresh statement and deliver a modern appearance that started on the footpath that engaged with passing traffic. For any fashion brand like Zara, the front store windows are like a canvas to the heart of the brand that displays fashion, trends and new lines. However today simply relying on clothed mannequins or some pretty window display is insufficient in the Hong Kong market where you face the highest rental costs in the word.  Printed posters or installing a bank of 42inch screens in your front store windows are simply inadequate today when digital content, social media and smart phone technology are central to any marketing or brand.

This recent Zara installation is located at 70 Queen’s Road Central Nathan Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The site was previously the location of a H & M clothing store who vacated due to the massive monthly rental costs. The Zara flagship store is located over 6 floors and epitomises the Zara philosophy of Beauty, Clarity, Functionality and Sustainability.

Elegance and a open design, the front display windows are flanked by two 20sqm transparent GlassLED screens

On reflection it may seem obvious that the GlassLED installation reaching 8 metre high at the front of the Zara store at ground level, however it was a natural choice as it combines five very unique aspects:

– Daytime time brightness,
– Appropriate resolution,
– Custom scalability,
– Rear window installation,
– No special installation infrastructure.
– Stunning transparency, that can be any size you desire.

The two Zara GlassLED Screens each  measures 2.56m wide x 8m High and beckon shoppers with fashion video content and acts as a digital screen. The transparent nature of the screen allows shoppers in-store to still see through the screens and view the outdoors, allows sunlight to enter from outdoors and if black is in the content then the content area becomes transparent and invisible allowing people passing be to actually see in the store looking through the screen. This feature is exclusive to the GlassLED and the additional building and window façade display technologies from ICE AV Global.  We call this “The Magic is in the Screen”.

The 55,000 sqft Zara Hong Kong flagship store is surrounded by many billboards and advertising signs, to the point it would seem any surface or airspace is used by surrounding businesses to promote their service, phone number and specials. In the midst of this it becomes a daunting task even for a global brand with 6,500 stores world wide. H & M could not sustain their presence due to dwindling sales at 70 Queen’s Road central in Hong Kong, so Zara had to overcome market trend and the visual noise surrounding them. The location harks back to the 1930’s when the China Emporium Ltd had an iconic business there that epitomises the finer things of life and has gone onto be known as the luxury brand of Lane Crawford.

Landrover showroom gets a significant boost with a streetside transparent GlassLED screen.

Hong Kong a retail, transportation and commerce capital of the world demands edgy attention. The city is an iconic trend centre and readily adapts to new technology.

The third GlassLED Transparent digital screen makes itself known on the busy Gloucester Street in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, one of its busiest roads. The road was named in 1929 after Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, to commemorate his visit to Hong Kong that year. Today it is also home to the Landrover and Jaguar automotive brand show room in the Sino Plaza The compressed area of Hong Kong generally means that stores don’t have the open space for signage and this especially applies to open yard vehicle areas due to the high premium real estate of Hong Kong.

The screen was able to be installed without effecting the physical environment and being light weight certainly was an advantage being able to mount on to the front window and still provide a view direct into the showroom.

The GlassLED Screen is a 12sqm P8mm resolution and is a street side screen facing onto the busy main road and can display content of any nature. The GlassLED tiles have been fitted to the existing front showroom glass window to the inside surface. This means there is minimal physical internal mounting structure, and yet we still have a transparent, open and see through viewing experience when both inside and outside.

The GlassLED tile sizes used are 512mm x 256mm which allows a precise fit in the display area and have been glued to the interior side of the window.

The brightness of the screen means that it can still display excellent quality images during the day. For night time, the software allows the brightness to be automatically reduced so as not to be glaringly bright.

Shopping Plaza GlassLED transparent screen adds a new high tech view for visitors

ICE Hanging GlassLED Screen almost finished being installed.

In this video we will show the recent installation of a Glass LED transparent screen in the Wanda Plaza located in Chengdu.

The screen was able to be installed without effecting the physical environment and being light weight certainly was an advantage. Visitors on the atrium side have a splendid view and those in the foyer can look through the screen with out the closed in feeling.

The GlassLED Screen measuring 5.63mW x 3.02mH with a P8mm resolution acts as a backdrop wall and atrium promotional transparent digital movie screen. The content can be of any nature, however as you will see in the video it is being used to promote new release movies in the IMAX theatre.

The GlassLED tile sizes used are 512mm x 256. Each tile is attached to the adjacent tile at each corner allowing the screen to be assembled.

Asia’s leading jewellery brand Chow Sang Sang installs transparent GlassLED screen.

A busy Hong Kong street corner on Nathan Road, the golden mile of Hong Kong retail, has a high tech upgrade with transparent GlassLED digital screen. Recently the leading Asian jewellery brand Chow Sang Sang equipped its latest Hong Kong store with a stunning transparent digital 4360mm high LED screen alongside the store’s main entrance.

The two level store is located on the busy intersection of Nathan and Austin Road. The building features a stepped back corner design on the ground floor providing additional waiting and walking space for pedestrians. The GlassLED screen allows a new smart and sophisticated appearance for the company and the store.

Formerly the corner of Austin and Nathan Road in Hong Kong featured the garish lime green colour scheme of Bossini clothing brand store. In this earlier view of the street corner the cluttered view can be easily seen.

The highly competitive nature of Hong Kong’s retail sector is well known and standing out from the competition in a fresh and modern way is vital to gain shopper attention.

The GlassLED screen technology allows this in a way that a traditional LED screen does not allow. Sydney Christmas Tree is ribbon wrapped in ICE Mesh Net LED Screen

Sydney’s Christmas Tree is wrapped in a Mesh LED Ribbon to carry the greeting and good will to all. The tree features the interactive ribbon for the first time and displays real time greetings from around the world from Twitter feeds.

The LED Mesh strips wrap around the tree like a giant ribbon. The Pitch is 40mm and designed to be seen during the full daylight. New Babylon Commercial Centre in the Hague uses the amazing transparent Glass LED Screen

The “New Babylon” office, conference, hotel and retail destination complex is showing the way in the latest trend in LED Digital Billboards thanks to transparent Glass LED panel tiles. New Babylon is located in the city centre of The Hague, next to The Hague Central Train Station.

The building is 44 floors and almost 150m high. But it is at ground level that the digital screen magic is happening. The installation in this state of the art building complex has been under construction for a number of years and its completion with the finished install of the Glass LED screen last month, clearly shows how LED screens can be a feature as non obtrusive digital magic within the building skin thanks to the reality of the Transparent LED Glass Panels.

By using the actual building surface as the LED screen and to that point the glass window or façade, eliminates the traditional standalone column mounted screen having to be placed out and away from the building.

Glass LED tiles are a recent development that allows new ways of creating attention and applying digital content onto building façade, multi level building windows, store and office windows. The Digital LED Glass Panels allow the actual building window to become a digital surface and screen capable of displaying video, animation, social media, photos, creative animations and video. Previously to achieve this projectors had to be used with only limited success during daytime. Today with the Glass LED titles all the limitations are removed and can be easily fitted to existing buildings or new planned construction.

With the Glass LED panels it is now possible to attach LED panels directly to the glass by way of the innovative mounting technique. The options of gluing, hanging, mounting all help to overcome a variety of location issues particular to each project. In addition is can be designed to install onto the vertical window frame.

The panels can butt up edge to edge and thereby creating large seamless edge screens as seen in this video. In the New Babylon project the controllers are aligned with the window glass frame. A certain amount of customisation is possible, for example panel size can be adapted for particular installations, as was the case in the New Babylon at “The Haque”. Control can be via Asynchronous or Synchronous, direct wired, or over wireless or G3 network. As can be seen in this project the Glass LED hardware is virtually invisible but the effect is dramatic. The panels are ideal for attaching to the inside of entire office floor windows, retail shop windows or office partition walls.

The Digital Glass Panels have daytime and night time ability, are applied to any window big or small. They can be easily retro fitted to existing glass façades, windows and internal partitions.

Digital LED Glass is ideal as message screen, effects, billboard, and at the same time not detract the external appearance of glass and yet still display daytime brightness when playing video, graphics, animations and photos. With the correct integration of associated technology it is possible to make the screens interactive, integrated with social media content.
